Name and fame of Apple as a brand is unmatched internationally, with a strong customer base in almost every corner of the world. Other brands like Samsung over time have offered Apple a strong competition, but the brand is not so easy to root off. I never realized the fact so deeply, making fun, like many others, of the intriguing bitten apple. I remained so until I met the logo one-on-one in the market and at home. We had an l that can be done with iPod as well, but who’ll take so much of efforts when you have YouTube with endless song collection.
My husband is a big gadget geek and if were for him, he would have a library collection of all sort of gadgets, from watches to cameras to mobiles to laptops to tablets everything. Working on iPad in office he was insisting we must buy one. While we already had a desktop, two laptops, two android mobiles; then why and how do we need an iPad was beyond my logics. So went the occasional request followed by my dismissals. Went by two years of these discussions and then one day he sneaked into the Apple showroom while we were in the mall for watching a movie.
While my husband was busy meeting and exploring the world of his so long, so highly revered crush; my attention was all driven to the Apple logos on various Apple products and how effective they were to hook me in its every size on various products. I hardly knew all these products, their specifications, how one was different or superior to the other; but at that moment my heart craved to buy them all. I wanted all of it. And the one that stole my heart away was the huge size apple logo shinning on an elegant black DOOH display that caught my attention from the very door of the shop. The white shiny apple seemed as if it was flooding in light. Being an advertising student I knew it was a great DOOH advertising, but the beauty and captivity of that shine was far beyond all logics and statics. Softly feeling those logos on the premium finish body of iPods, iPads, Mac Books, iMacs and iPhones; with my finger, I was going deep in love with the Apple world. And that was the point when my husband aced, asking if we should buy an iPad, offering me to have a test. Bull’s-eye! Yes he caught it very right. In just 10 minutes of feeling the screen, the body and enjoyed playing my favorite subway surfer, before my husband could say anything, I asked ‘are you brought your credit card in your pocket, I’m buying this’. And he readily volunteered to arrange to take home his love.
Coming back home, I was happier than my hubby; ofcourse for his happiness, but more of having the possession of that logo.
With this overwhelming encounter with the logo and the brand world of Apple I came across the truth of strength and lust of branding and logo. Apple for years have been reaping the fruits of their brand loyalty, paving way to the trends of brand patronage. Apple I would say has given branding a new definition, an irrefutable example for centuries and decades to come. And the logo yet simple, but is one of the most attractive and effective; one of the best in the world I would say. The elegance and grace of that mysterious eaten apple leaves stings in curiosity, leaving you magnetized and spellbinded, stretching your hands to reach out to that card to buy you the beauty.
In the ever changing world, full of competition, creativity and technological advancements, many more players like Samsung, Nexus, etc. would come and have their share. The competition will increase, competitors prosper; but Steve Jobs’ Apple is not going anywhere, it will stay as long as its lovers, admirers and swains will love it. Ask me, the logo so simply, yet so strategically created will continue stealing hearts. Strong market positioning, promotion and the new product launches will never let the pace go slow.
The love, passion and desire to buy for Apple products will keep flowing in the blood of gadget geeks and such prudents like me will be coming across the way, discovering the azure in that white logo. Well in those 35-40 minutes I was so drifted I could not help myself trying to capture that beauty in the camera of my mobile, and its blaze won me further.
Ahhh… I’m in serious love with the logo, how do geniuses come up with such logos, simple to see and so strong to pull buyers. To the smartness and genius of Steve Jobs and team Apple – ‘Hats Off’.
