• Drink at least 4-6l of water. Drinking water is one of the first tips you are given in context of many health related queries like acidity, skin problems like pimples, etc. Doctors say taking 2 glass of lukewarm water helps cool down the overnight heat of digestive system and also curbs acidity.

• Follow good eating habit. Your eating habit is a big determinant of your health to your knowledge or surprise. Do not drink water immediately after eating; instead keep a gap of at least 25-30 minutes. After eating do not immediately sit down or lie in the bed, take a little walk at least 10-15 minutes.

• Eat healthy and keep your diet balanced. Avoid eating stale and junk. Include more of fresh vegetables, fruits and salad in your diet. If you take a heavy meal or consume more than suggested calories (in parties, outings, etc.) compensate it with a walk of 30 minutes or more or do a little exercise later. And also balance your next meal with least amount of calories, taking in only salad or fruits as your next meal.

• Take 5 minutes of relaxation to meditate or just breathe in and out. Today’s life is all full of stress and it is no more possible to totally stay away from them. How to Keep our Environment Clean, Start with Your Society

We always love to be in a society that is clean and green. We all are advocates for a neat and clean society, pollution free environment; but how many of us do actually make an effort for that. Ask yourself? None of us would prefer to live in a dirty surrounding, there is hardly anyone who does not complains about unattended garbage, open manholes, filthy society and civic agencies not being prompt in their duties. It’s true that civic agencies are responsible for taking care of our society but it’s also important that we must realize our responsibilities to our society and environment; and do our share.

1)    Be the change that you want to see in others: We always complain about the things and processes that have not been taken care of… Most of the time we ourselves don’t follow them. The first thing that is needed to be done is to change ourselves into the person we want others to be. Why wait for other to do the right things, take initiative and lead the way.

2)    Don’t litter: Please don’t litter in your society and/or roads. Set a good example. Use dustbins, it will help in keeping the society clean. If society is plagued by litter then consult with your society members, president and other authorities in order to organize an awareness camp. Work with them and volunteers to clean the litters.

3)    Don’t dispose garbage in open areas:  Use dustbin or other means for dumping the waste material. People even in urban areas are seen throwing the waste on road or around open park areas. By organizing awareness camp you can help them in understanding the importance of using dustbin.

4)    Plant trees/Adopt trees: You should plant trees in your society or you can also adapt any tree and take care of that. Trees will help in controlling the pollution atleast a little bit. Having lots of trees in your society will help you have fresh air for you and your kids, balanced rainfall, and with a beautiful green society you will inspire others to follow the track and save the city and environment.

5)    Proper storage of water: Water is the most important part of life. Excess or deficit, both, of water not only makes us cry, but can lead to severe damages as well. Proper storage of water can help us combat many problems. We should try to store rain waters; with proper arrangements and help of society members we can utilize them for future usage. Water logging around the society if not managed leads to mosquito breeding which can cause various disease like Dengue, malaria, chickengunia etc.

6)    Be real eco-friendly: Don’t just talk about eco-friendly concepts and principles, abide by them. Use herbals colors in Holi; avoid using crackers on Diwali; do not dump e-waste (worn out electrical equipments, gadgets, etc.) or plastic waste; avoid using vehicles for short distances, instead walk or use a bicycle; do not overcharge your mobile batteries, charge only when the battery drains out.

In today’s fast running life, hectic schedules and in the race to be ahead of our friends and colleagues; we hardly have time to spare on these minute points.

2. Prefer to keep only one credit card. It’s true that they help us in crunch situation, but having too many of them can more likely lead to overspending and in huge bill amounts. Keep one credit card and earn reward point on that which you can later encash.
3. Avoid using credit card to make all purchases, even on the regular items like clothes, food, rashan, etc. It is advisable to use debit card or cash wherever possible, especially for smaller or regular expenses.
4. It is advisable to clear all dues on time. Paying minimum amount increases the interest and it will further take time to clear all your debt. Interest rates are usually very high which makes us pay more than what we have expected.
5. Know the billing cycle of card and spend in such a way that you can enjoy maximum interest free period before payment time.
6. Don’t miss your payment date. Pay off your credit card bills on time and get out of the credit debt on your card(s). Banks put a lot of charges on the bill amount and this may increase your expense. In case you are aware that you may miss the date inform the bank in advance about this.

Incomplete message, cluttered message, email without a subject, email sent to wrong persons, delayed replies, these are some cases which you may take casually but are a direct reflection of professionalism and management skills. How hard you may work at preparing the excel reports or meeting the deadlines; if you are bad at prompt email writing and communication, you overall score will drop down. Why? Managers can’t be standing over your head all day long, sitting inside their cabins; they evaluate your work, your promptness and dedication to your job on how effective you are in completing your work and keeping your manager informed.
